The thigh protector provides the user with protection in the lumbar low dorsal region, edge-bone region, and over the hip joints and thighs circumferentially.
The thigh protector is composed of one-part lumbar belt with the fastening system over the waist on the frontal part of the body. Fastening system is composed of the two freely adjustable belts that are terminated with a "trident" plastic buckle, these belts being fixed onto the cross for more solid and safe protector’s grip on the body. In the medial part of the thigh, protector’s fixation is secured with the pair of belts that have Velcro (dry zips) leading around the thigh circumferentially. The main part of thigh protectors (lumbar belt) is the sandwich-like structure, which is formed through lamination of the three layers of materials. The inner protector side - the closest one to the body - is made of Raschel knit fabric, which is agreeable on palpation and contact with skin. The middle layer is made from 7 mm thickness polyurethane foam able to absorb kinetic energy and eliminate consequently the effect of impact or blow. The outside bearing layer is made from non-inflammable fabric. For more protection of thighs from their external lateral side, this basic protection is augmented with plastic protectors that are shaped anatomically and provide the TON I grade resistance in combination with three-layered sandwich. The identical system has also been used for protection of the edge-bone region. The thigh protector is trimmed on the whole perimeter with non-inflammable strip in order to increase the endurance against abrasion.
The plastic moulds of thigh protectors are fitted with the sleeve clasp and the Velcro-ended belt for any eventual fixation of weapon-holder or any other object onto.
Thigh protector is manufactured in sizes (see in table) reflecting on user’s height of figure and his circumferential sizes (waist perimeter). Tzn. The so-called thigh protectors are size-different concerning the length of plastic cover and the width of the main lumbar belt.
